EDGAR HOME EXTENSION

This project consists of a thoughtful expansion designed to enhance the functionality and spatial experience of the existing home while maintaining a cohesive architectural identity. The intervention introduces new volumes that integrate seamlessly with the original structure, creating a balanced composition that feels both modern and intentional. 

The design emphasizes clean lines and a contemporary material palette, combining vertical metal siding, horizontal cladding, and warm wood accents to create contrast and visual depth. The new upper-level volume adds additional living space while its recessed balcony introduces a private outdoor area and adds dimension to the façade. 

At ground level, the expansion extends the home’s footprint to accommodate new interior spaces while a covered porch establishes a transitional zone between indoors and outdoors. Large openings and carefully positioned windows allow natural light to enter the interior and strengthen the connection with the surrounding landscape. 

The result is an expansion that not only increases the home’s capacity but also elevates its architectural character, blending modern materials, functional design, and a cohesive relationship with the existing structure.
